Floyd Mayweather reacts to Canelo Alvarez’s loss to Dmitry Bivol

Floyd Mayweather announced he bet Canelo Alvarez lose to Dmitry Bivol in their light heavyweight title fight in Las Vegas.
Canelo went into the fight as a favorite, but the undefeated Bivol, who retained his WBA light heavyweight title, put on a brilliant performance, winning 115-113 on all three scorecards.
The loss to Bivol is only the second of Canelo’s career, his first loss to Mayweather in September 2013.
But after Canelo’s defeat in Vegas, Mayweather revealed his bet slip showing he had bet $10,000 (£8,100) on Bivol to win, which saw him win $42,500 (£34,400).
Mayweather posted the bet slip on his Instagram page along with the caption: “Easy pickup”.
During a press conference in December, Mayweather slammed into Canelo, claiming his fight against the Mexican in 2013 was a breeze.
“Take a guy like Canelo, this guy gets to choose who he wants to fight,” Mayweather said.
‘And I’ll tell you the whole truth about Canelo. That mom is easy, man. Stroll. Easy. You’re all sitting up here praising this guy. This guy was nothing. I was almost forty years older when I cooked this guy. Easy.’
Canelo, meanwhile, insists he wants a rematch against Bivol and believes he should have won the fight.
“Yeah, we want the rematch and we want to do a lot better in the rematch,” Canelo said.
“I feel like judges often judge things that maybe they shouldn’t, for example I was blocking shots and throwing punches and I think sometimes that’s where the mistake was made.”
