Florida woman wins lottery scratch game after pit stop at gas station

TALLAHASSEE, Florida. – A 41-year-old woman is $1 million richer after a pit stop at a gas station, the Florida Lottery confirmed Thursday.
Darlene Vazquez Sierra, who recently relocated to Tallahassee from Orlando, bought her Mystery Multiplier winning ticket at a Star Food & Gas grocery store in her new town.
“We like Tallahassee so far, and this will definitely help in our search for a home!” she said.
Vazquez Sierra chose to receive her winnings as a one-time lump sum payment of $798,985.
The gas station she bought it from gets a $2,000 bonus commission.
“The 10 dollar game, MORE SECRETS, launched in May 2022 and will offer more than $148.1 million in cash prizes in total!” The Florida Lottery said in a press release. “Additionally, this ticket offers 10 grand prizes totaling $1 million and 20 second tier prizes totaling $100,000! The overall odds of winning the game are 1 in 3.31.”
