A star high school softball player was allegedly stabbed more than a dozen times by her ex-boyfriend at a restaurant before he started cutting his own throat.

Madison Schemitz, 17, and her mother Jaclyn “Jacki” Roge, 43, were at a Florida sports bar when they saw Spencer Ross Pearson, 18, sitting at a nearby table, according to a warrant from the St .Johns County emerges . Madison broke up with Pearson a few months ago.

The mother and daughter met friends at Mr Chubby’s Wings in Ponte Vedra Beach on Saturday and left to avoid Pearson. As the couple reached the parking lot, Pearson allegedly grabbed Madison from behind and stabbed her about 15 times, police said based on a witness report.

Roge tried to stop Pearson and he allegedly slashed her head and leg, according to the warrant obtained by the Florida Times-Union. A bystander intervened and was able to disarm Pearson, but was also injured in the scuffle. Then Pearson is said to have cut his throat and attempted suicide.
