A man has been arrested after he allegedly said “ghosts” had told him to set fire to his boss’s future home.
Thanh Ha, 54, was caught by multiple surveillance cameras as he cycled to a house under construction in St. Petersburg just before noon on May 3.
Ha appeared to lock his bike to a stop sign and then walk inside the house while attempting to cover his face with clothing, arrest documents obtained by WFLA show.
About five minutes later, Ha was captured running out of the house, unlocking his bike and fleeing.
The potential buyers of the home identified Ha as one of their employees, the documents say.
Ha admitted to setting fire to the building “because ‘spirits’ ordered him to,” officials wrote. He denied this because he was mad at his boss.
He was charged with second-degree arson and his bail was set at $10,000, according to the TV network.
