Florida Keys woman charged with fentanyl murder

MIAMI – A 23-year-old woman was charged with murder in the Florida Keys on Thursday after detectives accused her of selling the fentanyl that caused the death of a 53-year-old woman.
Deputies held Marathon’s Alexis Joy Sather without bail for the murder of Amanda Roberts, who deputies found dead Sept. 2 at her Grassy Key home.
“Stop selling this poison in our community,” Monroe County Sheriff Rick Ramsay said in a statement Wednesday after a coroner reported that Roberts died of an overdose of fentanyl and diazepam.
According to the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office, deputies arrested Sather on September 21 on charges of distributing heroin, possessing a controlled substance without a prescription and distributing fentanyl. Records show that she is being held without bond.
