Five Guys Worker complains about people asking for extra patties

A Five Guys employee sparked debate in the comments after posting a viral TikTok complaining about customers ordering a grilled cheese with an added patty.

The six-second video shows TikTok user @lil.loner29 filming himself in the back as he angrily put his hands on his head while melancholy music played in the background. The text overlay reads, “Can I have a grilled cheese for an extra patty?” Then the content creator inaudibly screams, throws his hat on the floor, and falls to his knees.

The Daily Dot contacted @lil.loner29 via TikTok comment for more information. The video was viewed over 454,000 times as of Sunday, with people attacking the content creator.

“Five guys work when they have to do their jobs,” wrote one viewer.

“Oh no, you have to do your job,” repeated another.

“You act like it’s harder to make than anything else on the menu,” criticized a third.

Some alleged former Five Guys employees claimed the grilled cheese was the easiest to prepare.

“Former 5guys employee/manager: It’s actually easier to make than a full burger lol,” claimed one.

“Not that hard to do. Used to work for five guys,” agreed a second.

Others, however, sympathized with the creator and jumped to her defense.

“Now why are you acting like it’s wrong to complain,” one person said.

“Why are you all acting like fast food workers who are never allowed to complain in the slightest about their job,” agreed a second.

“Fast food workers are allowed to have human emotions and feel stress. Everyone is angry about their job,” defended a third party.

A couple of former Five Guys employees made reference to the video.

“Lol every time I work for five people I get so mad,” said one worker.

“That’s how I am whenever someone orders this,” commented another.

As it appears TikTok has sparked some serious discussion, @lil.loner29 wrote in the comments, “Y’all this is a Tiktok don’t take it seriously bruh.”
