Fine today, rain ahead – Boston News, Weather, Sports

The weather’s winning streak continues with sunshine and low humidity starting the day. Temperatures will head into the upper 70s and low to mid 80s this afternoon as a southwest wind picks up gusting 20 to 30 mph. Heading that way, the south coast will be cooler, with temperatures close to 70 over the Cape and Buzzards Bay.

Showers begin tonight with localized downpours in embedded thunderstorms through tomorrow morning. In fact, tomorrow morning’s wet weather will slow morning commutes as local heavy rains fall. Widespread showers and storms will taper off to a scattered shower by midday and we’ll be mostly dry in the afternoon through Wednesday night.

On Thursday morning we will update the chance of rain if an area of low pressure moves in. Local downpours and thunderstorms are again a possibility for morning to midday commutes. The afternoon and evening will dry out again, giving way to a nice day expected Friday.

Saturday afternoon and Saturday night, another chance for rain movement. All in all, the rain chances are favorable this week as much of the eastern Mass is in a moderate drought.
