Vin Diesel has announced that filming on Fast and Furious 10 has begun and fans are over the moon.

To keep it simple, the 10th film in the franchise will be titled Fast X, and in the promo image he shared to his Instagram account, behind the word Fast there appear to be a series of spotlights spelling that out stylized logo illustrate.

In the post, Diesel also revealed that filming had started and simply captioned his post, “Day one… ๐Ÿ™๐Ÿฝ”.

The film series began its journey two decades ago, and The Fast And The Furious has since gone on to become one of the most successful in Hollywood history.

Directed by Vin’s Dominic Toretto, the films follow street racing, heists, spies and family twists and turns, as well as A-list stars like Ryan Reynolds, Eva Mendes, Djimon Hounsou and the late Paul Walker.

Many of Vin’s fans and celebrity followers who commented on the post were overjoyed at the announcement.

One commented: “๐Ÿ™Œ๐Ÿป YES”. Model Ruby Rose added: ‘๐Ÿ™Œ๐Ÿ™Œ๐Ÿ™Œ yes!’

The Fast Saga simply added: ‘LET’S GO๐Ÿ”ฅ’

In a 2020 statement, Universal announced that the series would conclude with the 11th film.

Both the 10th and 11th films will be shot simultaneously, with Vin previously saying they will be shot “back to back”.

Vin recently shared the startling revelation that a fan-favorite character was originally left out of the Fast & Furious 10 script โ€” until his daughter stepped in.

In a lengthy Instagram post, Vin wrote: “When the F10 script arrived it ruled out Mia Toretto…. Someone I credited with Dom and Brian’s brotherhood… I was so disappointed I couldn’t see how to move on…

‘Finally, I didn’t want to do another fast unless Brian was back in Four… I don’t need to remind you of the petitions you sent to the studio for Letty’s return at the end of Five.’

However, Vin revealed that it was one of his daughters that director Justin Lin pulled aside for a quiet word about getting Mia back into the script.

“Side note, you’ll never believe who corrected the very important role of Mia…my daughter, the alpha angel, who very clearly and honestly said to the director, ‘NO MIA NO FAST 10!’ haha,” he said.

“The irony is that the day she was born I was filming with Jordanna and Pablo and it was Jordanna who I first told it…profound right?”

Fast and Furious 9 hit theaters in June 2021 after its planned 2020 release was delayed by the Covid pandemic.

The film saw the gang speed through a land mine infested forest and of course pull off several outlandish car stunts.
