FanDuel NBA DFS roster selection (December 15, 21): Daily Fantasy Basketball Tips

Happy Wednesday, RotoBallers, and welcome to December! I hope this week’s NBA DFS has treated you well. I’m continuing to work on my model of the NBA, trying to gather more information to make sure you’re all as well-equipped as possible when it comes to each option. Even with the small tweaks I’ve made so far, it seems to be working. I am trying to implement different elements to separate cash options from GPP options. I will continue to update you with all the tweaks I make and with all that said, let’s get started tonight!

Tonight we have a big table, with 11 games mined. With FanDuel adding eligible players in multiple slots, we’ll have to attack other blocking vehicles a bit to make our roster as optimal as possible. That’s where I come in! I’ll be looking for my personal top plays and values for tonight’s pick. Things can also change during the day, so I’ll do my best to update as news comes out!

Here’s mine Daily FanDuel fantasy basketball lineup selection on 12/15/21. You can also check today DraftKings NBA DFS lineup selection. Follow RotoBaller trauma news to stay updated before the lineup is locked.

FanDuel Guards – NBA DFS roster selection

Jalen Brunson, PG/SG – vs LAL ($6,200)

As long as Luka remains absent, Brunson will be a reliable cash game. He’s averaged 29.3 FanDuel points per game in his last four games and will continue that against the Lakers tonight. LA ranks 27th in score protection effectiveness. My initial prediction had Brunson at 34.41 tonight. I think he mainly plays with money but in this match he has a ceiling to win you GPP. I can have Brunson in about 10% of my squad.

Josh Giddey, SG – vs NO ($5,800)

I’d love to see Giddey turn things around tonight after averaging just 25.1 FanDuel points in his last four games. He has a solid chance to do it tonight against the Pelicans in what I believe will be a high-scoring game. My prediction has Giddey of 32.44 tonight and although I don’t trust him with the cash, he still makes for a solid GPP play.

Armoni Brooks, SG – at CLE ($4,800)

Brooks was disappointing Monday night, in and out due to injury. He finished with just 13.6 FanDuel points, but he still performed extremely well late in the game, averaging 27.76 FanDuel points in his last four games. He will have no problem coming back tonight, with Eric Gordon now excluded on the series Rockets have missed the last few games. My initial prediction had Brooks at 27.86 FanDuel tonight, 5x the value. He’s likely going back to the makeup, so I’ll be heavier on Brooks as a cash game.

Also consider: Grayson Allen ($4,000), Spencer Dinwiddie ($5,100)

FanDuel Forwards – NBA DFS roster selection

Bobby Portis, PF/C – vs. IND ($7,700)

Portis has been playing well in recent times, averaging over 36.5 FanDuel points in his last four games. He has a tough game tonight against the Pacers, who are 2nd in PF efficiency and 5th in central efficiency. However, I am expecting a high-paced game with plenty of scoring potential, so I will look at Portis and Giannis to differentiate in the GPP. My initial guess has Portis at 39.15 tonight, so you’re getting good value here.

Dillon Brooks, SF/SG – at POR ($6,200)

Dillon Brooks played exceptionally well Monday night, scoring 35.2 FanDuel points. He averaged 30.26 FanDuel points in his last 4 games and now has a solid game against the Blazers, who are 30th in terms of small forward effectiveness. Brooks continues to collect solid uses with things like Ja Morant and Brandon Clarke not playing and I’m looking to him again tonight as a cash/GPP flexible play that I would recommend in single turn tournaments. My original Brooks prediction was 32.75 tonight.

Norman Powell, SF/SG – vs. MEM ($5,700)

Powell has played well into the end of the year, averaging 30.4 FanDuel points per game in his last four games. He will be on the other side of this game against Dillon Brooks, with the Grizzlies coming in at 16th with small forward efficiency. He has a high edge but I would be cautious when he played 39 minutes just last night, so I will probably stick with him as a GPP match. My initial predictions are for Powell to hit 30.84 tonight.

Also consider: Garrison Mathews ($4,700), Tyler Herro ($6,200)

FanDuel Center – NBA DFS Squad Selection

Nikola Jokic, C- vs. MIN ($11,500)

Jokic has been nothing short of outstanding in his last two games. The reigning NBA most valuable player has recorded a 70-point performance in a row and now has a home game against the Timberwolves, who are last in center efficiency. I consider him a viable option in terms of cash and GPP, and will likely play him in both. My initial Jokic prediction was 58.31 tonight.

Wendell Carter Jr., C/PF – vs. ATL ($7,000)

Well, Carter’s price has finally gone up. He’s averaged 33.58 FanDuel points over the last 5 games, but my early predictions tonight show him at 35.38 tonight, just over 5x the value. The match was solid against the Hawks, who ranked 24th in power-forward efficiency, but 7th in center efficiency. I will most likely play him in a small amount of GPP, but given his price increase, I will avoid him for cash.

Also consider: Jaren Jackson ($6,400), Jusef Nurkic ($5,900)
