Family orders £36.99 KFC chicken but only three arrive

A family of four expected a feast when they ordered a 30-piece bucket of KFC – but were left with ruffled feathers when just a couple of chicken pieces arrived.

The £36.99 Matchday Party Bucket was supposed to contain 14 chicken pieces along with eight mini chicken fillets and eight hot wings – plus a large helping of popcorn chicken.

It should also come with six servings of fries, a large tub of coleslaw, a large helping of gravy and a 1.5-liter bottle of Pepsi.

But after counting their chickens, the unfortunate family only found three large pieces, along with a few burnt pieces at the bottom of the bucket.

Angry father-of-two Steve Hunt, from Norwich, ordered the treat to celebrate his new job as health coordinator.

After he contacted KFC and Deliveroo, both companies refused a refund, insisting his celebratory order had been “fulfilled”.

The family also received a tiny bottle of orange juice, which they didn’t even order.

Mr Hunt said: “I had just gotten a new job and we were celebrating with a KFC. Me, my wife and the boys were starving and salivating at the prospect of a delivery from the Colonel.

“When it arrived my wife Syreeta called from the kitchen and asked why I only ordered for myself.

“Where were the other 27 chicken pieces, the popcorn chicken, the fries, the gravy, the coleslaw, the Pepsi?”

With their refund refused, the family had to spend a further £30 on a McDonald’s meal.

Mr Hunt added: “Colonel Sanders really let us down – this has got to be the worst culinary miscarriage ever.”

Deliveroo has now apologized to the family and given them a full refund plus a £50 credit.

A spokesman said: “We are sorry to hear that Mr Hunt did not have a great experience with his appointment.

“We have now refunded Mr. Hunt and apologize for his disappointment – and wish him well in his new job.”
