A worker at a Clearfield factory died Wednesday morning after being hit by falling equipment.

The 27-year-old victim was working with other workers at the utility trailer manufacturing plant just after 6:30 a.m. when overhead equipment fell.

First responders from the Clearfield Police Department and the North Davis Fire District arrived to find colleagues attempting to revive the man. However, after being transported to Holy Cross Hospital in Layton, he died shortly thereafter of complications from his head injury.

The Occupational Safety and Health Administration is currently on site investigating the death.

While the employee will not be identified until the family is notified, police believe he was an Ogden resident.
