Fair St. Louis sets up cooling centers for visitors to beat the heat

ST. LOUIS – Now that the weather has cleared up, those in charge at Messe St. Louis are anticipating a very busy night ahead.
Despite the heat, crowds flocked to downtown St. Louis for the St. Louis Fair. A constant crowd is expected throughout the evening.
The most important thing to remember are safety precautions. A heat warning is in effect Monday through Wednesday this week. The St. Louis Fire Department has set up several cooling stations so people can cool off with water.
The fair has partnered with the Metropolitan Police to have a significant law enforcement presence here in the area.
The footprint of the trade fair is also different this year; It was moved to Kiener Plaza and Ballpark Village. This presented trade fair managers with new challenges. However, Ballpark Village has more buildings for fairgoers to stop by and cool off.
