Of all Nintendo’s dormant franchises, F-Zero’s fans seem to be some of the loudest and most die-hard. They’ve been begging for a new signing for almost 20 years; One fan even became an investor just to ask the company directly about it.
Nintendo’s response at the time was typically wishy-washy, not stating whether or not something was in development with F-Zero.
Now it has been suggested that Nintendo is something to do with the series, but it may not be exactly what fans want or expect.
Rumors of a new F-Zero would normally seem more like wishful thinking, but the source for these has a track record of Nintendo announcements in the past.
They claimed Mario Kart 8 Deluxe would get the day before the Nintendo Direct DLC was revealed and the Bayonetta 3 release date was October 28th, a few weeks before the official announcement.
They even correctly stated that Nintendo’s June Showcase would be all about third-party games, including NieR:Automata and Persona ports for Nintendo Switch.
The leaker known as sylux hunter on Twitter, was asked for a cryptic clue as to what’s next for Nintendo in a recent interview with YouTube channel SwitchForce.
They only provided a binary string of numbers, but another Twitter user, Bozo the Chozoconcluded that it stood for the letters “YGBP” and thus a reference to “You got boost power”, a phrase said by the announcer in some of the F-Zero games.
Syluxhunter confirmed that was indeed the case, but when Bozo the Chozo said they’ve been waiting for a new F-Zero game since 2003’s F-Zero GX, the insider added, “Maybe you can meet your expectations fulfill a little.”
You may be controlling your expectations a bit, but yes, you were right.

This could indicate that Nintendo isn’t releasing an all-new F-Zero, although fans have admitted they’d be happy with an F-Zero GX remaster at this point.
Nintendo added F-Zero X to its Switch Online service earlier this year, so it might be planning the same with F-Zero GX. That would also mean that Nintendo will finally add GameCube games, which would be great news not only for F-Zero fans.
Another possibility is that Nintendo plans to add more F-Zero racetracks to Mario Kart 8 Deluxe with the Booster Course Pass DLC. The game already has two F-Zero tracks and it is speculated that the second wave of DLC will be released in the near future.
