Ex-Bath & Body Works employee says she never gives out her email address

A popular TikToker and former Bath & Body Works employee says she refuses to give her email address to cashiers when she shops at the chain.

The TikToker (@croissantwoman), who has a following of 1.8 million, says in a video posted Monday that she likes to “mess” with the cashiers at Bath & Body Works by emailing them when they check out -Address denied. She explains that cashiers must ask customers for their email addresses and keep a daily record of how many customer emails they successfully receive.

At the end of their shift, Bath & Body Works cashiers count the percentage of emails they’ve received from the customers they’ve served, the TikToker says. If the percentage is below 80, employees have to “work on it” to probably reach a higher percentage. The TikToker appears to be annoyed with the policy as she wonders how staff are expected to “work on it” when customers don’t want to give out their emails.

“I love going and I know they want my email so badly — and I’ll always say no,” she says in the video.

Employees try to convince her to give them her email address by highlighting the discounts and offers she will receive, but the TikToker says she’s never convinced by them.

As of Tuesday, the video had nearly 370,000 views on TikTok. Several viewers commented on TikToker’s pronunciation of “percent” — she said it like “person-tige” — but others had serious concerns about her refusal to distribute her email.

“I used to work there too, but now I always give my email out because I remember how stressed it would make me that it’s not their fault and they don’t like doing it,” commented one viewer .

“Plot twist: They know how much it means to get the email address so give it to them and make their day a little bit better,” commented a second.

Others sided with TikToker and said they hate giving their email to anyone.

“Now I want to go there and buy something just so I can say no. Lol,” wrote one user.

“I hate giving my email to these people,” shared a second.

“They send out 12 emails a day,” commented another, seemingly to support withholding email addresses from cashiers.
