Employee goes viral for being stuck in the storage room

In a viral video posted on June 15, TikToker Leah Kennell (@leahkenken) was going into her job’s storage room to gather her thoughts while stocking the store when the unexpected happened: the door handle broke.

“Like God just said, let me make your day a little worse,” she said, “I can’t call for help. Let’s see how long it lasts.”

Kennell updated the video, which now has 12.9 million views, at 20 minutes, 30 minutes and 50 minutes in the stockroom.

“I’m offended at this point,” she said.

In the comments, users discuss their situation.

“God said, here, take some time out to reflect,” one user commented.

“Girls I would be so happy if I were you, easy money and a nap rolled into one,” said another.

“Stuck from work? Damn yes,” commented a third user.

In the second video Kennell shared, she said she’s been stuck in the room for an hour and 20 minutes so far.

“That’s so rude. What if I fell and stabbed myself or hit my head open,” she said. “I should have finished 20 minutes max…I’m pissed.”

“Why are you sitting there and not banging on the door lmao,” asked one user.

“Legend says she’s still around,” commented another.

However, many comments ask if TikToker is ok as she hasn’t updated her account for 3 days.

In her last video addressing the situation, Kennell said her manager found her and realized she just needed space. Her boss asked why she didn’t just twist the lock and pull since that would have gotten her out.

“Thank you all for being so concerned,” she said. “I didn’t actually die, so that’s the gist.”

She said in the comments, “Yeah, my boss fixed the door and suing people isn’t really a thing in Denmark,” after users inquired about her next step.

The Daily Dot reached out to Kennell via TikTok comment for comment on this story.
