Emotional moment Reunion of a chimpanzee with a baby after birth by cesarean section

Zoocam footage of a chimpanzee being reunited with her baby after complications during childbirth is sure to melt your heart.
Mahale had an emotional reunion with little boy Kucheza at the Sedgwick County Zoo in Wichita, Kansas after being separated for life-saving treatment, including an emergency C-section.
The mother chimpanzee can be seen peering over her baby as it extends a tiny hand before it is picked up and rocked tenderly.
Swallowed zoo workers are heard saying “Good job Mahale” as she hugs her young son tightly.
The zoo said, “The whole world has fallen in love with Mahale and Kucheza” after posting footage of the couple on Facebook.
“All of the animals in our care serve as important ambassadors for their species,” the zoo wrote.
“Mahale and Kucheza reminded us all that chimpanzees are smart, charismatic, and amazing animals.”
Kucheza – which means ‘to play’ in Swahili – was kept in hospital after giving birth last Thursday, November 17, after struggling to breathe on his own.
The zoo revealed how its doting mum is proving to be the “most amazing mom” and hasn’t put down her son since she first picked him up.
She “multitasks like a pro” and eats while the infant clings to her fur and nurses.
“Mahale is nursing very well and there is plenty of milk available for her baby,” the zoo added.
“Fortunately, great apes have much greater and longer milk production than humans, so their ability to breastfeed was not affected by caesarean section or initial separation from the baby.”
Earlier this year, a baby sloth was reunited with its mother after accidentally falling out of her arms.
The distressed animal was found crying on a Costa Rica beach after falling from a tree.
