Embarrassing moment Emmanuel Macron tugs at Kylian Mbappe’s arm after the World Cup defeat
French President Emmanuel Macron awkwardly tried to comfort Kylian Mbappe after France lost to Argentina in the World Cup final.
Macron tried to put an arm around the France striker after the final whistle as he joined other players on the pitch.
But the cameras caught the moment Mbappe shook off the president and it looked like it was the last person he wanted to see.

Twitter users were quick to taunt Macron despite trying to lend a shoulder to the world-class striker.
Arthur Currie said: “Mbappe didn’t want any of this” and another Twitter user said: “Macron, get your hands off Mbappe you demon.”
Mbappe scored a hat-trick in the final as France lost to Argentina on penalties.
