Elon Musk tweets a cryptic post claiming social media has replaced “sex and drugs” while pursuing a $44 billion Twitter deal

It shows two charts titled “Life of an Artist”.
The diagram on the left is intended to represent the life of an artist in 1985.
It suggests that “Sex, Drugs & Rock ‘n’ Roll” has taken up a large chunk of an artist’s time.
A smaller portion of the chart shows that a lower percentage of time was spent “making art.”

The section of the chart remains the same as the one on the right, intended to represent an artist’s life in 2022.
The only difference is that “Sex, Drugs & Rock and Roll” has been replaced with “Social Media”.
Musk didn’t add any words of his own to the post.
It’s unclear if Musk considers himself an artist, but he’s a big fan of social media and recently offered to buy Twitter for $44 billion.
That deal is currently on hold while Musk awaits more details on the number of Twitter accounts that are actually bots.
The billionaire caused controversy earlier this month with a tweet about whether Twitter is telling the truth about how many of its users are actually fake.
Musk tweeted, “Twitter claims that >95% of daily active users are real, unique people. Anyone have this experience?”
He then attached a poll to the tweet, giving users less than 24 hours to respond to two options.

The options are two crying laughing faces or “Who me!?” followed by a robot emoji.
Both poll responses show that Musk clearly does not take Twitter’s claims at face value.
