A doordasher took to TikTok to chronicle her treatment of people who didn’t tip, and it’s sparking debate online about how far doordashers should take it.

The video is from a creator on the DoorDash Chronicles account and has racked up more than 326,000 views as of Sunday.

In the clip, the creator is in a car delivering a DoorDash order, sitting in the passenger seat. The driver’s “POV” video begins with the creator saying, “Once in a while, just for fun, I like to pick up someone’s order who didn’t want to tip. And so it goes.”

Then the driver throws the food – packed in a transparent plastic bag – onto the floor in front of the passenger seat. The driver then turns up the air conditioning and directs it to the floor vents to cool the job.

The video then ends with the creator saying, “Have fun motherfuckers,” with the on-screen caption, “When I’m bored I like to play with the curmudgeons.”

Some responded by either wondering or directly guessing that they would wait for the order to be delivered before tipping.

One remarked, “Dude some of us are waiting to see how you’re doing so we can tip you well if you do well.”

Another noted, “I sometimes give cash but more often I tip after it’s been delivered how the delivery instructions and the food were handled.”

While some people claimed to be tips, a few people chimed in to claim that tips for DoorDash orders are rare.

A few people shared unlucky stories about not being able to tip back then and being able to rely on DoorDash in tough times. One revealed: “I was stuck at home for two weeks after giving birth with no maternity pay, I used what I had for food at the door for my toddler and I couldn’t afford tips.”

Another remarked: “I couldn’t afford to tip once or twice, my house was ill with Covid, no food in the house, I was quite bedridden.”

And although the occasional commenter dropped in to express solidarity, most expressed outrage and even horror at this delivery service representative.

As one commenter noted, “I love that these comments aren’t going the way you thought they would. DoorDash should know what crappy people work for them.”

The creator replied, “Oh darling, they walk exactly how I imagined them and I’m so amused.”

The Daily Dot reached out to the creator via TikTok comment and DoorDash via email.
