DoorDash driver lets customers come to car to get delivery

A DoorDash customer went viral on TikTok after complaining that her delivery driver refused to bring her food to her door because it was “too cold.”

The customer posted footage of herself calling the driver on TikTok using the name @itsbigmiketime. The video appears staged because the TikTok account appears to be owned jointly by the customer and driver. Based on the account’s previous videos, the two appear to be a couple. It’s unclear if the man outside of the staged video is a DoorDash driver.

In the fairly convincingly played video, the customer walked outside while furiously complaining about having to leave her house. Their driveway was covered in ice and wind could be heard in the background of the video. The DoorDash driver honked his car horn repeatedly as the customer walked down their driveway.

“Excuse me, you’re supposed to take it to the door,” the customer said as she approached the car. The driver shook his head and replied, “It’s cold outside today.”

The customer said she specifically asked for the food to be delivered to her door, adding a “large tip.” The driver urged her to take her order while it was still warm and go back inside. The two argued back and forth. The customer insisted that it was the driver’s job to follow the delivery instructions, while the driver snapped at her to bring her food before it got cold.

Eventually, the customer grabbed her order and warned the driver that she would take her tip back.

In the comments, many viewers speculated whether the video was authentic or not. Real or not, several viewers asked the customer to take her tip back.

“Cancel tip,” commented one viewer.

“Tell me you took the tip back,” wrote another.

Other viewers said the driver’s attitude shows that many drivers behave rudely, even when given a good tip.

“Where these DoorDashers are just complaining that no one has tipped them, they go and get a tip and don’t know how to act,” wrote one user.

“You see, even if you tip them well, they don’t want to do it right,” commented another.

The Daily Dot contacted @itsbigmiketime via TikTok comment and DoorDash via email.
