DoorDash Customer Shows Buffalo Wild Wings Order, Sparking Debate

The high service fees and delivery costs for apps like DoorDash, Uber Eats, and Postmates sometimes make customers frown when they receive their order. TikToker Preston Walker (@prestonspams) shared a video showing an order he placed with Buffalo Wild Wings for two 10-piece wings and fries that totaled a whopping $53.

“My girlfriend and I just ordered DoorDash and paid $53 for it,” Walker says in the video.

“Yes! There was too much tip included,” Walked added in the caption.

Walker’s video has been viewed 1.5 million times.

“Would cost $20 if you picked it up,” one claimed.

Some of the comments also ignore some people with disabilities (and others who are physically unable to pick up food themselves) who may be relying on delivery apps.

“The price of being lazy” is one of the top comments.

Walker responded to critical commenters in follow-up videos.

“It was a $55 order — a really expensive order for two boneless 10-piece wings and a skillet, and someone wants to comment on that, ‘price of laziness,'” he says in a video. “No, that’s the price of living out of town, I just had my permit, couldn’t drive yet and we were hungry. If I have the money to pay for it, what does it matter? DoorDash is expensive – it’s the price of being expensive and eating well.”

Others agreed with Walker that the price of ordering through DoorDash is high, with some claiming that ordering through delivery apps is no longer worthwhile.

“My order at MCDONALD’S is 2 of the $3 combos and a $1 drink for $7. Doing something similar at the Door Dash costs $17 with tips and fees,” one said.

“I ordered Door Dash once in 2020. It cost more for the delivery and tip than the food,” wrote another alleged DoorDash customer. “No thanks, I’ll get my own.”

“I can’t justify delivery apps anymore,” wrote one commenter. “It’s cheaper to order from places that offer their own delivery. I tip their drivers well and still save a lot.”

The Daily Dot contacted DoorDash via email and Walker via Instagram direct message.
