Former President Donald Trump claimed his daughter Ivanka Trump “checked out” and was not involved in analyzing the election results after she accepted his loss in her Jan. 6 testimony.

The ex-president tuned in to his eldest daughter after part of her videotaped remarks were played at the first public hearing of the House Select Committee investigating the Capitol riot on Thursday night.

“Ivanka Trump was not involved in viewing or investigating the election results,” the 45th President wrote on his social media platform Truth Social on Friday.

“She was already checked out and I think she was just trying to be respectful of Bill Barr and his position as Attorney General (he sucked!).”

His angry post came hours after committee vice chair Liz Cheney played Ivanka’s remarks to lawmakers and the public watching the hearing.

“Many staffers at President Trump’s White House have also recognized that the evidence does not support President Trump’s claims,” Cheney said. “This is the President’s daughter commenting on Bill Barr’s statement that the Department (of Justice) did not find fraud sufficient to overturn the election.”

In the clip, the interviewers ask Ivanka, who has served as the president’s senior adviser, how Barr’s testimony influenced her view of the 2020 presidential election.

“That influenced my perspective,” Ivanka replies. “I respect Attorney General Barr, so I accept what he said.”

Ex-President Trump’s backlash at Ivanka’s comment is a surprising departure given she has long been perceived as his favorite child.

His comment on Ivanka was just one of several fiery remarks he made after the congressional hearing in which lawmakers accused him of orchestrating the insurgency in an “attempted coup.”

The former President said that “the Unselect Committee of Political HACKS refuses to play one of the many positive witnesses and testimonies, refuses to speak about the electoral fraud and irregularities that have taken place on a large scale and has decided using a documentary filmmaker from Fake News ABC only shoots negative material.

He was targeting Barr, who said in December 2020 the Justice Department “did not see any fraud on a scale that could have affected a different outcome of the election.”

On Friday, former President Barr called “a weak and frightened Attorney General who was always ‘outplayed’ and threatened by Democrats and terrified of impeachment.”

Ex-President Trump also refused to consent to chants to “hang” Mike Pence, his vice president, Cheney said during the hearing.

“I NEVER said or even considered saying ‘hang Mike Pence,'” he posted on Truth Social. “This is either a made up story by someone who wants to be a star or FAKE NEWS!”
