Former President Donald Trump called his then-Vice President Mike Pence a “wimp” and “the P-word” in a “heated” call Jan. 6, his daughter Ivanka Trump and her assistant said.
Trump had several family members with him in the Oval Office that morning when he called Pence, it emerged Thursday at the House Select Committee’s third public hearing investigating the Capitol riot.
“The second time I entered the office, he was on the phone with who I later found out was the vice president. The conversation was quite heated,” Ivanka said in a video testimony played during the hearing.
“I remember hearing the word ‘wuss’.”
In another testimony clip, Ivanka’s former chief of staff, Julie Radford, said the then-first daughter told her that “her father just had a disturbing conversation with the vice president.”
And Julie Radford, Ivanka Trump’s former chief of staff, said she recalled Ivanka Trump telling her “her father just had a disturbing conversation with the vice president.” It was not previously public knowledge that Radford had spoken to the committee.
A questioning attorney asked Radford if she remembered what Trump called pence.
“The P-word,” Radford replied.
