Don Lemon slipped past Michelle Yeoh’s Oscars Speech Shade

Michelle Yeoh dropped some shade during her Oscars acceptance speech in what many saw as a not-so-subtle dig at Don Lemon. The CNN host has been in hot water since his comments about former South Carolina Gov. Nikki Haley not in “her prime” due to her age. Lemon was temporarily taken off the air after his comments about Haley, but it seems Yeoh was aware of the fiasco.

On accepting the Best Actress award for Everything everywhere at onceYeoh said, “Ladies, don’t let anyone tell you you’ve ever passed your prime.” The line exploded on Twitter as people speculated that it shot straight at Lemon.

However, when it came to covering the Oscars Monday morning, Lemon noticeably ignored Yeoh’s remarks as he praised her Everything everywhere at once for the award ceremony. “Big night for Asians and Asian Americans,” Lemon said while dancing past Yeoh’s viral moment, which everyone assumed was about him. Over The daily beast:

Lemon gushed over Ke Huy Quan’s emotional win for Best Supporting Actor at the Oscars, saying the awards show was “particularly affirming” for Asian Americans.

“With all the anti-Asian hatred that’s raging in the country, especially since COVID, I felt this was a really important and empowering moment for Asian Americans,” he concluded.

Of course, it should probably be noted that Lemon’s comments about Haley were reportedly his “final warning” at CNN, so the last thing he needs is a tussle with 2023 Best Actress Oscar winner Michelle Yeoh. That’s a fight Lemon won’t win in any arena.
