As you know, at the Daily Dot we are calling the next few months “Summer of the Shovels‘ as we search the web for the most pressing stories. As part of that, I thought it would be fun give you an insight into the reporting process.

Today our Tech Reporter Michael Thalen gives you a glimpse of the Edward Snowden scoop you saw above. Here’s what he had to say:

Hackers claiming affiliation with Anonymous were able to gain access 70,000 files from the Embassy of Ecuador in Moscow. The documents I looked at after they were given to the journalist collective by the hackers DDoSecretscontain everything from passport scans and Visa Application Data to more than 30,000 emails. I was too pointed in the direction of 2013 documents on NSA whistleblowers Edward Snowden and finally Ecuador’s failed backdoor efforts to secure his transfer from Russia to Ecuador.

Karl Paladin

Repeated “racist” comments haven’t stopped Republicans from backing this multimillionaire

Karl Paladin is proof that money can’t buy class.

Paladin is a multimillionaire who holds emerged in New York politics like a bad dime. Now it’s the Republican’s turn to run for Congress.

Wherever Paladino goes racist comments and other communication error Consequences. He insists Of course he’s not a fanatic.

Paladino said, emailed and forwarded some really terrible things over the years. CNN reports He said blacks are “kept hungry and stupid,” so they would vote for Democrats.

A Media Matters for America followed report which he shared conspiracy theories that the mass shootings in Uvalde, Texas and his hometown from Buffalo, New York was false flags.

Last year, meant Paladino that the United States needs “inspirational” leadership – how Hitler.

“These are the kind of leaders we need today,” he said said of the Nazi leader. “…We need someone who is a doer, has been there and done it.”

Someone – maybe Rep. Elise Stefanik (RN.Y.), who endorsed him – Paladino should probably say that the “it” that Hitler accomplished is the Holocaust and WWII.

Maybe her didn’t cover that when he was at school.

Paladino previously served on the Buffalo Board of Education — which required he performs in 2016 for (Surprise!) “racist comments. He said in written formhe hoped then President Barack Obama want die of mad cow disease after sexual relations with a cow.

Paladino also wrote that he wanted MichelleObama “being a man again” and living with “Maxie the gorilla” in a cave in Africa. (He refused to resignbut the state removed him the following year.)

Paladino seems to have a real thing bestiality and racism. During his 2010 campaign for the governor of New York, a local blog uncovered that he sent the email included the N-word, porn, and a video of a woman having sex with a horse.

His spokesman Michael Caputo (yes This one) not even reject it. Paladino may have sent some “fake” and “politically incorrect” emails, said Caputo, but no big deal. “Almost none of them were worth remembering.”

Today is Paladino practically a ghost online. he’s up Twitter, Facebookand has one website– which together have so little content, you may ask if he is a real person.

Its online footprint is so sparse because he holds Clear Posts and entire accounts after being called for things like tell a woman who accused former President Donald Trump of sexual assault to “get a life”. “You probably enjoyed the slap back then,” he wrote.

You can read his old tweets here and here. There you will find posts on the topic “deep state” and him saying weeks after Trump lost that still believed that he would be inaugurated for a second term.

Once as a Paladino wrote, “We are already America’s laughing stock because we have the dumbest elected leaders ever. Why add anything.”
