Disturbing video shows students brutally beaten at Miami Beach Senior High School

MIAMI BEACH, Fla. – A violent brawl was caught on camera at Miami Beach Senior High School on Friday morning.

The disturbing video shows a reckless beating of a student, which only appears to be dragging on as many other students laugh around them and were seen recording the fight.

The video shows a girl in a black sweater grabbing another girl in a gray sweater from behind and starts hitting her, hitting her several times.

Shortly after the beatings were delivered, video shows the girl in the black sweater trying to smash the girl’s head against a bench.

After about 25 seconds, other students were seen trying to intervene and stop the fight.

After a quick split, the girl in the black sweater was seen dishing out more punches, trying to reach across the crowd for a final punch.

Adam Hammel, a father of one student who attends the school, told Local 10 News that he couldn’t believe the violence that took place.

“(It’s) incredibly violent,” he said. “It looks like an MMA fight in a school.”

The video was captured on Friday morning and quickly shared with students and parents.

“During lunch, there have to be supervisors, people walking around, but it’s also the students’ responsibility to intervene,” Hammel said.

Only about 50 seconds into the video we finally see a man who looks like an employee.

A man who appeared to be a staff member responded to the fight almost 50 seconds into the fight.

Officials have not said if any of the students sustained injuries during the fight.

Miami-Dade County Public Schools released the following statement regarding the incident:

“Miami-Dade County public schools remain committed to promoting a safe learning environment for all, and we do not condone the type of behavior displayed in this video. Therefore, students involved in the altercation will be disciplined in accordance with the Student Code of Conduct.”
