Distortion2 Speedruns Elden Ring in the 36 minute run

Distortion2, a streamer and experienced Dark Souls Series Speedrunner, apparently breaking the record for the fastest elden ring Speedrun today with 36 minutes and 20 seconds of game time. The achievement was registered on his YouTube channel just a day after he completed a 37-minute run.

elden ringThe growing speedrunning community of has various categories that dictate loadout or strategy constraints such as: B. Allowing or prohibiting certain tactics exclusively. Distortion2 did this speedrun in the Any% category, where anything goes. From mistakes to death, all that matters is to finish the game in as little time as possible.

It is possible to see how Distortion2 uses some tricks at the beginning of the run. Instead of waiting for the game to load when opening a door, for example, Distortion2 saves and returns to the title screen only to load the game from there. This process sometimes shortens some time in different areas. He also jumps to his death before the first boss, Grafted Scion, even seems to skip the unnecessary combat.

As the run progresses, Distortion2 uses some parkour tricks to skip entire areas, as well as the trick of going back to the title screen and reloading the game. Towards the end there are bosses he can’t skip and he opts to build around the Icerind Hatchet +9 weapon. It has an AoE special ice attack that deals a lot of damage to bosses at a distance. He also uses some summoning spells like Lone Wolf Ashes and Spirit Calling Bell.

Just a few days ago the record for the fastest elden ring Speedrun was nearing an hour, but Distortion2 itself broke it with a 49-minute speedrun earlier this week. Now he’s broken his own record again with his latest 37-minute run, even after unintentionally dying for the Godskin Duo bosses. He’s still trying to carve some time off his latest milestone.

In spite of elden ringBecause of (or because of) the difficulty, the game’s speedrunning community is growing and developing a variety of categories and strategies in their attempts. As these communities continue to grow and learn, fans can expect more and more records to be broken in different categories, with different types of runs like Any% having their own set of rules. This means that setting new records will likely only be a matter of time. However, Distortion2 has established himself as one of the biggest speedrunners on Twitch and, as described in his latest video, is already planning to complete the game in less than 30 minutes. Fans can keep up with his attempts to set something new elden ring Recordings on his Twitch channel.
