dimensions Congresswoman Ayanna Pressley is asking the FDA to investigate the potential health risks associated with chemical hair straighteners.

The National Institutes of Health recently published a study showing that women who use the products are twice as likely to develop cervical cancer by the age of 70.

Black women are disproportionately at risk because they use the products at higher rates, Pressley said.

Congresswoman says FDA should review this research and reevaluate the safety of these products.
