Devin Haney names Vasiliy Lomachenko and Gervonta Davis as the fights that interest him the most
Devin Haney has named Vasiliy Lomachenko and Gervonta Davis as his ideal next two opponents after unifying the lightweight division.
The 23-year-old American put on a hard-hitting performance to beat George Kambosos Jr in enemy territory earlier this month and made his way to the champion’s home country of Australia before returning home with all four world titles.
Kambosos Jr. has signaled his intention to activate a rematch clause and Haney has vowed to be a man of his word and honor that agreement.
But if for some reason that fight isn’t next, Haney has two other delicious fights in mind.
“The two I would be interested in are Loma and Tank,” Haney said in an interview with Tha Boxing Voice.
“These fights interest me the most. But I will fight anyone. I am a true fighter.”
Lomachenko was originally scheduled to fight Kambosos Jr. this summer, but the three-weight world champion pulled out of the fight after returning to Ukraine following February’s Russian invasion.
Lomachenko joined the Territorial Defense Battalion shortly after returning home and it remains to be seen when the 34-year-old will resume his glittering career.
Haney and Davis, meanwhile, remain separated by publicity bureaucracy, the latter being backed by Premier Boxing Champions and Mayweather Promotions.
“Those fights interest me the most, but we can’t always do these fights,” Haney said.
“It’s still a business and I understand that. We’ll just have to see what my team can come up with and see what’s realistic.
