Detectives investigating the ‘barbaric’ murder of a young man in east London have offered a £10,000 reward for information helping them trace the other suspect.

Michael Fadeyibi, 23, was stabbed to death on Henniker Road, Newham on August 6, 2021.

One man has already been convicted of murder but police are still looking for Ryan Igbinovia, 26, in connection with the attack.

It has links to the Stratford area of East London, South East London and Birmingham.

On the anniversary of his son’s murder, Charlie Fadeyibi described his family’s “immeasurable” grief as he asked for the public’s help.

“On Friday 6th August 2021 my son Michael was taken away in a cruel manner. On that day we lost a beloved son, brother and grandson,” he said.

“I don’t think those in charge ever considered the impact on his family when they carried out their barbaric act of stabbing and killing our son.”

He added: “It is immeasurable for (Michael’s) mother to not only lose her son but also to witness the upset inflicted on her daughter while she copes with her own grief.

“No man deserves such a terrible death; I can’t imagine how scared he must have been in his last moments, fighting to his last breath to stay alive.

“Two men are responsible for the death of our son and also for stabbing his friend who fortunately survived.

“One of those responsible was found guilty on July 4, but the other man was never arrested.

“A year later, I can’t describe how it feels as a father to know that one of the men responsible for my son’s death is still walking the streets at large.

“I urge anyone with information to get in touch with the police and help them so they can be located and brought to justice.”

The Met has announced it will offer a reward of up to £10,000 for information leading to the location and arrest of Igbinovia.
