Dartford: ‘Radiation leak’ tests carried out after man fell ill | UK News

A man has been hospitalized after a decontamination tent was set up in Dartford, Kent, amid fears of a radiation leak.

The incident happened at 2:30am this morning at a house in Blakes Garden, Temple Hill.

Yellow tents were pitched in the residential area in the middle of the night as officials conducted tests for a possible radiation leak.

According to footage, emergency services were on site by 8:30 a.m. with four fire engines, a hazmat unit and crews in gas-tight suits.

A fire department spokesman said: KentOnline: “We were called to Blake Gardens in Dartford to test for a possible radiation leak after a man fell ill.

“He was taken to the hospital by SECAmb paramedics.

“Four fire engines and a hazmat unit were present, and crews in gas-tight suits conducted tests throughout the site.

“No sources of radiation have been identified and there is no risk to the public.

Kent Police added: “We were called at 2.30am on Tuesday 25 April by the South East Coast Ambulance Service to a medical incident at Blake Gardens, Dartford.

“Officials attended the scene where they were assisting paramedics and the Kent Fire and Rescue Service.”
