Colon cancer activist Debs was living at her parents’ home in Woking, Surrey, in the weeks leading up to her death on June 28.

Her mother Heather appeared on Lorraine today to talk about her daughter’s book and was shown a new video about the publication.

She added that Deborah wanted the last word as she sat back to watch the clip.

The video starts with Debs in the garden, then small clips of her dancing in the hospital are played.

She says, “No matter how small, we need to capture those little moments whenever we see them.”

The video continues with a short clip of Debs dancing with her daughter Eloise.

Debs continues, “Record the good times however you can.

“You may find yourself down a path you didn’t want to go, but sometimes it’s okay to adjust your expectations and still keep walking toward those dreams.”

We then see Debs walking through a garden picking flowers before issuing her final note.

“But if you’re having a bad day today, remember that tomorrow might be just the good day you need,” she said.

Mum Heather then explained that it took her daughter two years to write the book, adding that reading the last two chapters was emotional for her.

She said: “The last two chapters were written at our home in the last few weeks of her life.

“It wasn’t the ending she expected when she started the book two years ago, but she didn’t know how long she had left.

“But she had two years that were incredible. I’ve read the final chapters now and they’re very emotional.”

Colon Cancer Symptoms to Talk to Your GP About:

The five warning signs of colon cancer are:

  • Bleeding from the posterior passage or blood in your stool
  • A change in your normal toilet habits – for example, walking more often
  • Pain or a lump in your abdomen
  • Extreme tiredness
  • lose weight

Tumors in the gut typically bleed, which can lead to a shortage of red blood cells, known as anemia. It can cause fatigue and sometimes shortness of breath.

In some cases, colon cancer can block the bowel, this is called a bowel obstruction.

Other signs of colon cancer are:

  • Gripping pains in abdomen
  • bloating
  • Constipation and inability to breathe
  • Be sick
  • The feeling that you have to exert yourself – like number two – but after you’ve been to the toilet

Debs, known to her Instagram fans as BowelBabe, was diagnosed with terminal colon cancer at the age of 35 just days before Christmas 2016.

After learning in May that she would be receiving end-of-life hospice care, she began fundraising in earnest – the total now exceeds a staggering £7.4million.

Despite being told she had an eight percent chance of living five years, Deborah defied all odds against her.

After celebrating her 40th birthday last October — a birthday she never dreamed she would see — the brave activist marked the five-year milestone a few months later.

Deborah shared every step of her journey with Sun readers in her Things Cancer Made Me Say column and her army of devoted social media followers.

She then presented the award-winning BBC podcast You, Me and the Big C, starring cancer patients Rachael Bland, Lauren Mahon and Rachael’s husband Steve, who died in September 2018.

In the five and a half years since her diagnosis, Deborah has transformed the conversation about colon cancer, raising awareness and breaking taboos.

She tirelessly banged the f*** cancer drum — she wrote a book of the same name — and vowed to do whatever it takes to help others avoid their fate.
