Customer shows reality of Applebee’s Cheetos Wings

A man on TikTok has gone viral for sharing the disappointing reality of the Flamin’ Hot Cheetos chicken wings he ordered from Applebee’s.

In the video, TikTok user Sergio (@666.ssergio) shows a phone screen with a menu item called “Traditional Wings with Flamin’ Hot Wing Sauce.” Accompanying the menu listing is a photo of several chicken wings coated in finely ground Flamin’ Hot Cheetos.

“Up the heat with Cheetos® Flamin’ Hot flavor that hits the mark! Tossed in sauce and topped with crunchy Cheetos crumbles,” the item description reads.

“Man, look, I ordered that, bruh. Shit looks good,” says Sergio while showing the order screen. He then focuses the camera on the food he’s received: plain wings, celery, and chunks of Flamin’ Hot Cheetos scattered underneath.

“What the hell is this shit, bruh? I need a refund,” he concludes.

Sergio warns viewers in the caption, writing, “Don’t order this bruh.”

The video was viewed over 231,000 times on Tuesday. In the comments, alleged current and former Applebee workers claimed that the way Sergio obtained the wings is the same as how they are normally prepared.

“I used to work apple bees and that’s where they came from, they just mash up Cheetos and put them on and they’re always super greasy,” wrote one viewer.

“I work for Applebee’s and I can confirm it’s always done that way,” repeated a second.

Other viewers shared their disappointing experiences ordering the wings.

“I got these once and questioned my entire life for about 6 months,” shared one.

“I got the same thing once and it made me pee,” wrote a second.

“Bruh they just handed me a little dip tank full of hot Cheeto dust, I was pissed,” said a third.

On the other hand, several users reported having positive experiences with the wings and recommended ordering them at the restaurant.

“Get them from Applebees, they really are like the picture,” advised one viewer.

“I had them in the Applebees and they look like they were advertised,” agreed a second.

However, it seems that ordering the wings from a physical location is no longer possible. The wings do not appear in the menu area of the Applebee website. The wings page now links to Cosmic Wings, Applebee’s supply-only brand, where the item is still available.
