Customer says Spirit Airlines employee threw his tickets in the trash

A TikToker says Spirit Airlines employees threw away his plane tickets and then removed him and his family from the plane gate.

Clint Evans (@tint_by_clint) posted a TikTok with footage of him speaking to officials at a Spirit Airlines gate on May 8. In it, Evans says that he tried to get on the plane but couldn’t make it, and then found his tickets in the trash. He also says tickets have been reprinted for him and his family.

The Spirit Airlines employee asks Evans for his tickets, and he refuses to give them to her. She then says that she hasn’t helped him anymore and won’t argue with him.

“You were no help at all. You have already said that you cannot issue a refund. So how the hell do you say you’re going to help,” Evans says on TikTok as he and his family walk away from the airline gate.

In the video’s overlay text, Clint says that a ponytailed woman seen in the video threw away his tickets. As of Monday, Evans’ video had over a million views.

Many commenters on Evan’s video agreed that he had been abused by Spirit.

“THEY SOLD YOU SEATS!!! Pocketed the money!!” @queen_chairana speculated. “Girl with ponytail acting suspicious with that bag!!!”

“Actually, they owe you a refund,” wrote @amarianna_santos. “And you can sue for mental distress.”

“She had an attitude from the start that you could hear in her voice,” commented @theyaretripping. “She wasn’t trying to be professional or helpful at all, she was looking for an excuse.”

Other commenters questioned Evans why he flew Spirit Airlines in the first place. “WHY THE HELL YOU ALL KEEP FLYING WITH Spirit Airlines,” said one.

In a follow-up on TikTok, Evans said his viral video was filmed at Orlando International Airport in Florida and that he and his family are on their way to a funeral. He also says Spirit Airlines employees were “rude” to him and that he contacted Spirit Airlines. He also says the plane was still at the gate when he and his family tried to board.

Commenters on Evans’ follow-up videos said they thought maybe he and his family were just late for the flight and felt they were missing some information.

“I feel like we’re missing a lot,” commented @sketchymomontiktok. “Where did you get your boarding passes from?”

“I guess you got to the gate late and they wouldn’t let you board even though the plane was still there and they threw away your tickets,” wrote @sgreene7.

“I don’t think you fully understand how flying works. There is a boarding time. Yes the plane will still be seated when they stop boarding,” commented @tfduhhh.
