Customer says Little Caesars is more expensive than Domino’s

A Little Caesars customer shared that the pizza chain’s pizza is now more expensive than competitor Domino’s.
In the seven-second clip, TikTok user Hugo Castaneda (@hkhugo) asks his followers via overlay text, “Man…when did Little Caesars become more expensive than Domino’s?”
He then zooms in on his two pizza boxes and reveals the receipt. Each pizza cost $8.49, totaling $18.47 after tax in Chula Vista, California. According to Castaneda, he considered Little Caesars “always beneficial” due to “cost and convenience.” In his opinion, the quality of dominoes is better – now the price is right too.

The Daily Dot has contacted Castaneda via TikTok comment and Little Caesars via press email regarding the video. TikTok drew over 36,000 views Monday, with viewers suggesting various reasons why the pizza costs so much.
“The cost of doing business in California. small Caesars franchisees probably don’t own their buildings. they rent them out. Rent in Ca isn’t cheap,” one viewer wrote.
“It’s because people get 20 pizzas at a time,” said a third.
“When they became the NFL’s official pizza sponsor,” suggested a third.
“Classic pizza is $5.99 in Texas. These prices are intended to cover the cost of increased wages. You have to pay for these higher wages with higher prices,” suggested another.
Others shared the prices from Little Caesars Pizza, where they live.
“Inflation my last little Cesar was $30 cheese crust 2 pizza with toppings,” one person shared.
“Bro I had it shipped for $50 like huh,” said a second.
“$6.79 in Indiana,” commented a third.
In 2022, Little Caesars increased its prices for the first time in 25 years. The pizza company opened on May 8, 1959 and introduced its promotional pizza in 1997 via $5 shaker boards. Due to supply chains and the pandemic, the price of their pizza rose 11% to $5.55 per pizza and is still rising. According to The New York Post, the cost of hot peppers rose 50% during the pandemic. Due to the inflated prices, their pizzas have been revised and contain 33% more pepperoni.
