Customer left phone number for server but only tip 10%

A nightclub server says a customer left her his number and wanted to cheat on his wife — but he tipped the server less than 10%.

Server Kay (@kayy_jade) posted a TikTok video explaining what happened and said she just had to share the story on Server TikTok. In the video, Kay says she served a table with two men and a woman. One of the men was sitting next to the woman and had his arm around her, so Kay assumed they were a couple.

Throughout the night, the trio behaved like a normal group of guests and there were no problems, says Kay. At the end of the evening, she gave the group’s receipt, and when she came back to collect her payment, she noticed something written at the bottom of the receipt.

Kay says the receipt said, “I’m about to cheat from 7 to 3. She’s a teacher,” accompanied by a smiley doodle. The note also included a phone number, which Kay redacted from the screenshot she shared of the purported receipt. Despite the invitation to cheat, the customer only tip Kay $10 for an order that totaled more than $100.

“So you gave me a bad tip and you want me to help you cheat on your wife/girlfriend?” says Kay in the video. “No, won’t happen.”

The TikToker says she immediately decided to tell the woman about the note. She waited until the customer left the table to go to the bathroom, then stopped them and showed her the note on the receipt.

“I’m like, ‘Hey, miss. I’m so sorry, I don’t know if this is a joke or which one of them wrote it or what’s going on, but I thought you should see this,'” Kay says in the video, sharing what she shared the woman.

The woman read the receipt and reportedly said to Kay, “Well I’m not dating either of them and I need to pee,” says the server. The woman’s comment confused Kay as she snuggled with one of the men all night. The TikToker ends her video by saying she “needs” answers.

Several viewers commented on jokes about TikToker’s bizarre history.

“He said you can get the other tip later [laughing emoji]’ commented one viewer.

Another wrote: “As I would do it [have] said 50% tip and it’s a deal and just never met him [crying emoji].”

Some users suggested how TikToker could have used the man’s phone number.

“Look up his phone number and Venmo will ask him,” said one user.

A second commented: “Easy, add to contacts, view contact list on Snapchat, find out names, look it up on Instagram or Facebook. Find out who the girlfriend is.”

Other servers shared similar experiences with male customers who left their phone number. Some of them said that these customers always leave bad tips.

“10 years bartender every man who gave me his number has tipped 10% or less…like bro wtf,” one viewer wrote.

“It’s always the ‘big flirts’ who tip like crap,” said another.
