A woman’s TikTok admission that she always orders her full Thanksgiving dinner from Cracker Barrel has sparked debate on the video platform.
TikToker Jen (@jennychielsey) posted a video of Cracker Barrel employees carrying several boxes of food from the restaurant to her car. She says she’s picking up her family’s Thanksgiving dinner.
“I’m not cooking for Thanksgiving; I never have and never will,” reads the video’s on-screen caption. “We always ordered from Cracker Barrel. You don’t have to sweat when cooking.”
In the video, Jen opens one of the boxes stuffed with groceries and says the order cost $150. She adds in the video’s caption that she’s “ready for turkey day.”
Though the TikToker sounds excited about their upcoming Thanksgiving, some viewers have been skeptical about buying such an important meal at a restaurant.
“Nothing like a homemade Thanksgiving dinner for me,” read one comment with more than 40,000 likes.
“Idk I feel like cooking with your family is part of the experience,” said another commenter.
One viewer wrote: “I tried to buy dinner but it was awful. Homemade is the only way.”
Some viewers apparently tried to shame or embarrass the TikToker.
“I work 50-60 hour weeks and I still cook a whole Thanksgiving dinner,” wrote one viewer.
Another commented, “So sorry to hear that.”
But other users encouraged TikTokers to continue celebrating the holiday in whatever way makes their family happy. Even Cracker Barrel got involved.
“People are so passive aggressive in these comments. You and your family continue to do what you all love. Enjoy the day!” wrote one user.
“Everyone has their own traditions! Happy Thanksgiving 💕,” said a second user.
Cracker Barrel’s TikTok account commented, “Bon appétit! Thank you for making us a part of your tradition.”
According to a Cracker Barrel employee, Jen is far from the only customer enjoying a Cracker Barrel Thanksgiving dinner.
“I work at Crackerbarrel. We get so many pre-orders every year,” they commented.
