England have named a 14-man squad for the upcoming ODI series against the Netherlands.

The Eoin Morgan world champion will play three one-day internationals against the Netherlands from June 17 in Amstelveen, a suburb of the Amsterdam metropolitan area.

Lancashire bowler Luke Wood and Gloucestershire paceman David Payne are the two uncapped players to be named in the squad.

This is Wood’s first senior call-up, while Payne was involved in last summer’s ODIs against Pakistan.

New England white-ball coach Matthew Mott said, “I’m really looking forward to coaching a strong squad for my first series in charge. We have tremendous depth with a mix of youth and experience.

“We want to continue to play in an expressive style and let our players show off their skills and firepower.

England’s ODI squad

Eoin Morgan (Middlesex), Moeen Ali (Worcestershire), Jos Buttler (Lancashire), Brydon Carse (Durham, Sam Curran (Surrey), Liam Livingstone (Lancashire), Dawid Malan (Yorkshire), David Payne (Gloucestershire), Adil Rashid ( Yorkshire), Jason Roy (Surrey), Phil Salt (Lancashire), Reece Topley (Surrey), David Willey (Yorkshire), Luke Wood (Lancashire)

“Luke Wood deserves his draft. He has been consistent for Lancashire over the last 12 months and we have been monitoring his development. If he gets the chance to play he will surely make the most of his opportunity.

“This is a historic event for the sport and the first time English men have played the Netherlands in an ODI series. We can’t wait to go to Amsterdam and put on a show for the thousands of fans who have come to support the team.

“The ODI side had limited opportunities and last played in July. However, with about 18 months to go before the next ICC 50 Over World Cup in India, our preparation will start with nine games in the summer and a busy winter against tough opponents.’

England’s trip to Amsterdam begins a busy period for the team, who play white-ball series against India and South Africa later in the summer.
