COUPLES can increase their chances of conceiving by more than half — simply by better timing, researchers say.
Those who had sex near the woman’s fertile window had a 28 percent chance of conceiving that month.
They used pee tests to track ovulation to show them when to get it.
Their success rate is 18 percent through regular, unplanned nookies.
The findings come from a team from Oxford University that looked at data from six studies involving 2,374 women trying to conceive naturally.
The lead researcher Dr. Tatjana Gibbons said, “This update suggests a benefit of timed intercourse using urinary ovulation detection.”
But experts said more evidence was needed before the practice could be encouraged – particularly for couples who had long struggled to conceive.
The results were submitted to the European Society for Human Reproduction and Embryology.
According to a study, older fathers are more likely to have boys.
Experts from IVI Global Fertility Clinics found that fathers over 40 are 20 percent less likely to have a girl than fathers under 30.
