Cool change of pace when storms are heading towards Sydney

Severe thunderstorms are brewing over the Blue Mountains west of Sydney while a chilly change will sweep the humid metropolitan area on Sunday afternoon.
Heavy rains, large hailstones and damaging winds are possible as storm systems move northwest, affecting Springwood, Bilpin, Colo Heights, Upper Colo and Kurrajong.

A separate storm system is bringing rain to the city’s southern suburbs.
“We also have a few thunderstorms over the southern parts of Sydney and we can expect rain for the next few days,” a spokeswoman for the Bureau of Meteorology said.
“By the end of the week, the situation will be drier and humidity will be reduced, which will be a relief.”
People on the path of the Blue Mountains storm are advised to cover cars or move away from trees, secure loose objects around yards and balconies, and stay away from downed power lines, a state emergency service alert said.
Severe thunderstorm warnings are also in place for parts of the Northern Rivers, Mid North Coast, Hunter, Metropolitan, Central Tablelands, Northern Tablelands and North West Slopes and Plains districts.
