Comic Kid: Local 9-year-old showcases artistic talent at community center, works to inspire others – Boston News, Weather, Sports

CAMBRIDGE, MASS. (WHDH) – Kellen Paul may only be 9 years old, but the youngster has made a name for himself putting pencil to paper and drawing his own comics while honing his craft and inspiring others.
Kellen shares his artwork on YouTube and at events hosted by the Community Art Center in Cambridge, and is encouraged by the center’s staff as he makes progress on his very first comic.
“We said to him, ‘You know what, you can be an artist when you grow up,’ and he announced, ‘What?'” program manager Jada Alleyne asked Kellen during an interview.
“I will!” he said.
Received encouragement and room to grow at the arts center, Kellen said he wants to inspire others now and told anyone working on their own special projects to “keep practicing, keep inspiring and keep doing the amazing work!”
Meanwhile, he continues to put together his comic book, Kellen the Kid, a comic focused on life and adventures with his friends.
“Basically, I’m just going through everyday life, you know, just trying to be creative and have fun,” he explained.
Kellen said his comic is a work in progress, but fans can keep up to date with progress and more on his own YouTube channel, Kellen the Kid! found here.
