AFTER more than 10 years in production, Coca-Cola is brutally honest about the future of Honest Tea.
The Coca-Cola Company announced that Honest Tea will be fully catalog retired by the end of the year.
In a press release, Coca-Cola announced that Gold Peak will now be the company’s flagship ready-to-drink tea.
“We believe Gold Peak and Peace Tea are best positioned to meet consumer preferences for high-quality brewed teas with varying levels of sweetness and flavor,” said Sabrina Tandon, Group Director, RTD Tea, Coca-Cola North America Operating Unit.
Having two teas instead of three will also free up investment resources and supply chain capacity to meet consumer needs.
The HONEST Kids drinks will continue to be sold and more products will be released.
Honest Tea was founded in 1988 and acquired by Coca-Cola in 2011.
Soda fans may have noticed that McDonald’s soda tastes a little different than the Coke and Sprite you’d get at the store.
Former McDonald’s employee Michael Ryan, who goes by @EvilGlitterQueen on the app, has explained on TikTok why the soda tastes so much better.
Ryan explains how the restaurant’s special, wider straws put more carbonation on your tongue and make the soda taste better.
Another reason your drinks taste better is because of an exclusive contract between the restaurant and Coca-Cola.
“McDonald’s actually commissions Coke for their own syrup recipe. That’s why their coke has a little more sugar and a lot more flavor.”
