Cloudy start, warmer end – Boston News, Weather, Sports

There was quite a wide range of temperatures from east to west yesterday as low 50s highs surged north west of 495 over the Plymouth County coast into the mid to high 70s. Today we again have a wide range of temperatures from the northwest to the southeast, but overall it will be several degrees warmer than yesterday in many places. Low clouds and fog are hardest to break through near the coast, where they are likely to linger all morning. The wind is also much weaker today. Temperatures are close to 60 on the coast to 75-80 northwest of 495.

Tomorrow low cloud and fog will start again, but the warmer air is creeping closer to shore, and even Boston is taking a run at 70. Cape Ann, the South Shore coast and Cape Cod are still running in the 60’s. Temperatures will be around 75-80 inland tomorrow afternoon.

With higher humidity and higher temperatures, the summer Saturday will be full of early clouds and fog to sun. Highs are in the low to mid 80’s for many, although it will be cooler, 70’s on the coast (60’s Cape/Islands). Sunday and Monday are also very warm. Scattered showers are possible on Saturday night, with scattered showers on Sunday but will remain dry for much of the weekend. There is a chance of scattered thunderstorms across the region next Monday before a cold front pulls through.
