Climber killed after falling 100 feet in Big Cottonwood Canyon

Officials say the climber was properly equipped.

(Fox 13 News) A climber died Wednesday afternoon after falling about 100 feet in Big Cottonwood Canyon.

A climber died Wednesday afternoon after falling about 100 feet in Big Cottonwood Canyon.

According to the Uniform Police, the 26-year-old man was climbing up “Outside Corner” when he fell. Although the cause of the accident is not known, a police spokesman said the unidentified climber was properly equipped.

The climber’s girlfriend called the police in desperation and alerted them to the fall. By the time emergency services arrived, the man had already died.
