Client is trying to get CVS up to speed due to early shutdown. It backfires

A customer’s attempt to call drugstore chain CVS about being refused entry just before it closed has backfired as viewers defended the employee’s actions in a now-viral TikTok.

In the video, which has racked up over 825,000 views on TikTok, Ragnar Helsson (@ragnar_helsson) films a CVS employee at the door telling them they are closing early and depriving customers of medication by giving the 8:58pm instead close at 9:00 p.m.

“So I went to my local CVS on the Maryland Parkway, and as you can see, it was 9 p.m. before the closing,” reads the text overlay. “There were already other people outside trying to get in when I drove up so obviously they had closed AT LEAST 5 minutes earlier if not more. And that was her reaction. They didn’t give a shit. And then the guy tried to call me “security reasons”. Yes, exactly. Great customer service CVS.”

@ragnar_helsson So I went to my local CVS on Maryland Parkway and as you can see it was before the 9pm closing. There were already other people out there trying to get in when I pulled up so obviously they had closed AT LEAST 5 minutes early if not more. And that was her reaction. They didn’t give a shit. Viewers overwhelmingly sided with the employees, who closed the store just minutes early based on the time reported by Helsson.

“Don’t people realize how inconsiderate it is to shop a minute before closing time?” wrote one commenter.

“Who the hell shows up 1 minute before closing?” said another.

“You’re joking,” added a third. “These workers are tired and it’s normal to close a minute early.”

Others pointed out that the reactions in the comments section weren’t what Helsson expected.

“This video certainly didn’t go the way he envisioned it,” wrote one commenter.

“He definitely thought those comments would look different,” said another.

The Daily Dot reached out to Helsson via TikTok comment and CVS via email.
