ALBUQUERQUE, NM – Over the past six years, a local nonprofit has erected a very special Christmas tree at Civic Plaza. It’s called the Angel Tree, and each ornament features a picture and name of a child lost to abuse or abandoned in New Mexico.

The nonprofit, Child Defenders, is a group of cyclists that support people struggling with abuse and neglect in court – and they honor those who passed away before they could. get justice.
