Cindy Williams of Laverne & Shirley dies aged 75

“We made a roster of our talents at the beginning of each season,” Marshall told the AP in 2002. “Cindy could touch her nose with her tongue, and we used that on the show. I did tap dance.”
Williams told the AP in 2013 that she and Marshall had “very different personalities,” but stories of the two’s clashes during filming were “a bit exaggerated.”
In 1982, Williams became pregnant and wanted her hours reduced. When her demands were not met, she left the set and filed a lawsuit against the production company. She made a few appearances in the final season.
Williams was born in 1947 to one of two sisters in the Van Nuys area of Los Angeles. Her family moved to Dallas shortly after she was born, but returned to Los Angeles, where she began acting while attending Birmingham High School and majoring in Theater Arts at LA City College.

Her acting career began in 1969 with small roles on television, with appearances on Room 222, Nanny and the professor and American style love.
Her role in Lucas’ American graffiti would become a defining role, and Lucas also considered her for the role of Princess Leia war of starsa role that went to Carrie Fisher.
Over the past three decades, Williams has made guest appearances on dozens of television series, including 7th heaven, 8 simple rules and Law and Order: Special Victims Unit. In 2013, she and Marshall performed in one Laverne & Shirley Tribute episode of the Nickelodeon series Sam and Cat.
Last year, Williams appeared in a one-woman stage show filled with stories from her career. Me, me and Shirleyat a theater in Palm Springs, California, near her home in Desert Hot Springs.
Williams was married to Hudson Brothers singer Bill Hudson from 1982 to 2000. Hudson was the father of her two children. He was previously married to Goldie Hawn and is also the father of actress Kate Hudson.
