Chrissie Hynde rejects the Rock ‘n’ Roll Hall of Fame

After Courtney Love wrote a comment for The guard The Pretenders’ Chrissie Hynde criticized the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame for a lack of female representation and shared her thoughts on Facebook.
Hynde had a similar stance, noting that she wanted nothing to do with the program or its launch.
If anyone wants my position in the Rock ‘n’ Roll Hall of Fame, they’re welcome. I don’t want to be associated with that at all. It’s just more establishment backslapping. I got into a band so I didn’t have to be a part of all that.
I was living a happy life in Rio when I got the call that I was accepted. My heart sank knowing I would have to go back as it would be too big a slap in the teeth for my parents if I didn’t. I had upset her enough by then, so it was one of those things that would save me from years of disappointment. (like moving out of the US and being arrested at PETA protests and my general personality).
Aside from Neil Young’s involvement in the induction process, the whole thing was and still is total crap.
It has absolutely nothing to do with rock ‘n’ roll and anyone who thinks that is a fool.
