Chipping Campden: Man, 45, charged with murder of his mother, 84

A man has been charged with the murder of his 84-year-old mother after she was found dead at home with head injuries.
Police rushed to the house on Chipping Campden High Street in the Cotswolds just after midnight on Friday.
When they arrived they found Beatrice Corry with severe head injuries from which she died soon after.
Her son, Matthew Corry, 45, has now been charged with the pensioner’s murder and is due to appear at Cheltenham Magistrates’ Court on Monday.
Gloucestershire Police said they were not looking for any other suspects. In a statement, the force said: “A man has been charged in connection with the death of an elderly woman in Chipping Campden yesterday (Friday 6 January).
“Matthew Corry, aged 45 and from the High Street in Chipping Campden, was charged today (Saturday 7 January) with the murder of his mother Beatrice Corry.
“Police were called to her home in Chipping Campden at 12.10am yesterday (Friday 6 January) where 84-year-old Beatrice was found with head injuries from which she subsequently died.”
