as spring Summer is coming, flowers are blooming, bees are flying and gardens are growing all over the UK.

That can only mean one thing: it’s time for the annual Chelsea Flower Show, hosted by the Royal Horticultural Society (RHS) in the grounds of the Royal London Hospital in Chelsea.

The event with the green thumb will certainly be something very special this year due to the platinum anniversary. Queen Elizabeth II is a frequent attendee, having been Patron of the RHS since the beginning of her reign in 1952 – Her Majesty hopes to attend again in 2022.

It has long been a favorite of the royal family, with the Duchess of Cambridge designing a garden in 2019.

So when exactly is the show this year and is it still possible to get tickets?

Here’s everything you need to know.

In 2022 the Chelsea Flower Show will take place Tuesday May 24th to Saturday May 28th.

Each day the show starts at 8am, with a typical closing time at 8pm – although the Chelsea Flower Show Late runs until 10pm and the event ends earlier on Saturday at 5.30pm.

What is the Chelsea Flower Show schedule?

As always, visitors are encouraged to admire the expertly landscaped gardens to be seen at the fair.

This year’s gardens include a rewilding landscape, a feeding station, a textile garden, a Swiss-inspired sanctuary and Joe Swift-designed BBC Studios Our Green Planet and RHS Bee Garden.

Blue Peter is also back with The New Blue Peter Garden, which focuses entirely on the importance of soil.

Whilst these gardens will be enjoyable to browse, the Flower Show will ultimately decide the best of the bunch, with a range of awards up for grabs including Best Show Garden.

Best Artisan Garden, Best Sanctuary, and Best Construction awards are also presented, as well as gold, silver, and silver medals. There are also floristry prizes, people’s choice picks and much more to be won.

For the curiosity factor, fans should also check out The Plantman’s Ice Garden – which features a giant block of ice.

Admire the many flowers that cover the Great Pavilion, including a platinum jubilee floral tribute to the Queen.

The jubilee exhibitions also include a bespoke section featuring portraits and photographs of Her Majesty.
